We went into the T20 world cup without our big guns i.e-Tendulkar,Ganguly and Dravid.And every one expected us to be out in the first or at max. second round.But when we reached the semis,this came as a great surprise to the cricketing world.And then in the semis,happened the unexpected,we defeated the world champs of ODI i.e-Australia.No one was able to digest this reality..Neither was i...
What can you expect more from the first T20 world cup.The stage was set.Yes,The arch rivals India and Pakistan were on the battlefield in the finals.The whole world had eyes on them.And what more,match went into the last over.Everyone thought we were down and out.Then suddenly,the whole nation went mad.Yeah,We were waiting for this moment for last 24 years.At last,we won the world cup..World was stunned.How can such a young inexperienced side win a World cup..But,this was the sour reality they were forced to accept..
Dhoni and his boys made India proud..They were given a huge welcome by indian fans..Then came the real tough challange..T20 against Aussies..India had to play their first T20 match in front of their home crowd..Dhoni and boys had to prove their real worth in front of their home crowd and most importantly Deepika,whome Dhoni had especially invited..And the boys did..We again told the world what we are capable of..
Like we study today that West indies won the first ever world cup..Our future generation will also proudly say..YES,WE WERE THE FIRST T20 CHAMPS...
